The show’s producer, David Saxe, grew up in a Las Vegas showbiz family. His mother was a showgirl in Les Folies Bergere and his father was a saxophone player and band leader for “The Rat Pack.” Literally raised backstage, specialty acts were David’s favorite part of the shows.
In those days, the acts were used as transitions or bridges during set and costume changes, but David wanted to bring them to the forefront. He began developing a concept for a variety show that would showcase the best, most unique short performances in the world all on one stage, a show with something for everyone… V - The Ultimate Variety Show.
As soon V - The Ultimate Variety Show premiered at the Venetian Resort & Casino in 2002, it was an instant hit! The long-time Las Vegas producer eventually realized his large-scale stage production deserved its own state-of-the-art space and began drawing up plans to build the V Theater which opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2004.
The moment the curtain went up, word got out. Top performers from around the world flocked to Vegas hoping Saxe would choose them to be part of his award-winning show.Today, a dozen rotating specialty acts make up V - The Ultimate Variety Show giving audiences a different performance each night! Performers have been features on shows like America's Got Talent, I Can Do That!, The Ellen DeGeneres show, and other TV talk shows!
